HOPE AND HEALING WITH THE ART OF EMOTION

At The Art of Emotion, we believe that understanding the financial aspects of Therapy is an important part of the treatment process. We are committed to providing clear information about insurance, fees, and payment policies so you can focus on your care with confidence and without unexpected surprises.

Before your first appointment, we encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify your behavioral health benefits.

Understanding Your Benefits

Questions you may wish to ask include:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • Is The Art of Emotion considered an in-network provider?
  • Do I have a deductible, copay, or coinsurance?
  • Has my deductible been met?
  • Are there any authorization requirements or session limits?
  • What will my estimated out-of-pocket cost be for services?

Payment Responsibility

Copays, deductibles, coinsurance amounts, and any non-covered services are the client's responsibility and are due at the time of service.

Please note that insurance benefit information is provided as an estimate only and is not a guarantee of payment. Insurance claims are subject to review and processing by your insurance carrier.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) cards
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards

Accessing Your Billing Information

Clients may view billing statements, invoices, payment history, and payment methods at any time through their secure SimplePractice Client Portal.

Out-of-Network Benefits

If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, you are welcome to utilize our self-pay services.

Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may partially reimburse the cost of Therapy. Depending on your insurance plan, we may be able to submit claims on your behalf or provide documentation to assist with reimbursement.

For plans that do not allow direct claim submission, we can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may submit directly to your insurance company.

Because every insurance plan is different, reimbursement amounts cannot be guaranteed. We strongly recommend contacting your insurance carrier before your first appointment to understand your out-of-network behavioral health coverage and reimbursement eligibility.

Self-Pay Rates

The following rates apply to standard 50-minute psychotherapy sessions:

  • Individual Therapy: $150
  • Couples Therapy: $200

Payment is due at the time of service.

Sliding Scale Opportunities

A limited number of reduced-fee appointments may be available, subject to demonstrated financial need and therapist availability. If you are interested in discussing sliding scale options, please get in touch with us before scheduling.

Good Faith Estimates

Clients who choose not to use insurance or pay directly for services have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of treatment in accordance with federal regulations.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) cards
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards

Billing statements and payment history can be accessed at any time through your secure SimplePractice Client Portal.

Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments (no-shows), may be subject to a $75 cancellation fee.

Insurance companies do not cover cancellation or missed appointment fees. As a result, these fees are the sole responsibility of the client.

We understand that emergencies occasionally occur and reserve the right to consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
