
Stephanie Paley-Quain is a licensed professional counselor who graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 2022 with a degree in Community and Trauma Counseling with a Specialization in Play Therapy. Stephanie completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Tampa, where she majored in Psychology. While completing her master’s degree, Stephanie worked as a clinical counseling intern at Survivors of Abuse in Recovery Inc, which is a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals who have suffered from sexual abuse. In addition to providing individual therapy, Stephanie worked as an Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Therapist for 4 years (2022-2026), where she provided level of care assessments and facilitated a tween (ages 10-13) group 4 days per week, helping kids struggling with suicidal thoughts, self-harming behaviors, depression, and anxiety.
Stephanie has experience working with a diverse range of clients using an integrative and eccentric approach. Stephanie specializes in treating those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, sexual abuse trauma, complex trauma, trauma and stressor-related disorders, personality disorders, and adjustment/life transitions. Stephanie primarily utilizes a combination of person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and play therapy. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Stephanie works to create a safe and comfortable space for clients to express themselves in whatever way they need too! Stephanie is very creative and loves to incorporate a variety of arts and crafts, music, movement, etc., into her sessions. Additionally, Stephanie utilizes play therapy techniques, such as sand tray, arts and crafts, and games, to create a safe space where children and adolescents can express and process emotions and experiences. By doing so, they gain emotional mastery and develop strategies to cope with difficult situations.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys being outside, going to the beach, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, doing something crafty, and binge-watching TV shows.
