Emily is a pre-licensed, master's degree-level clinical mental health counselor/play therapist with a concentration in child trauma and play therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
Emily is passionate about creating neurodiversity-affirming, healing spaces for neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults. Her work is grounded in empathy, play (for all ages!), creativity, and advocacy, with experience across home, school, and clinical settings supporting clients with ADHD, Autism, PTSD, and trauma histories.
Emily's clinical approach is strengths-based, client-centered, and play-focused, integrating play therapy principles to support emotional and sensory regulation, self-advocacy skills, social connection, and self-understanding. Emily is currently becoming certified in AutPlay® Therapy, a neurodiversity affirming framework for implementing play therapy to address the mental health needs of neurodivergent children and their families. She aspires to become certified in Animal-Assisted Play Therapy® (AAPT) and pursue a doctorate in Counselor Education to advocate for the leveraging of neurodivergent voices and inclusion in mental health settings.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Simba, traveling, gardening, cooking, listening to music, and gaming.
