Emily Arleth, MS

Hope and Healing with The Art of Emotion

Emily is a pre-licensed, master's degree level clinician holding a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Child Trauma and Play Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She is currently accruing hours towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Emily's areas of expertise include neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, SPD, SLD, ID, Giftedness, etc.), anxiety, anger, self-esteem, grief, PTSD, and complex trauma.

She primarily works with children, teens, and young adults. Emily is prescriptive in her approach, drawing from elements of various counseling and play therapy theories to suit her clientele best. She maintains a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, and strengths-focused approach with all clients to support sensory and emotional regulation. Emily believes in the power of expressive therapies to facilitate healing, self-discovery, and social connectedness. She is especially passionate about creating healing spaces for neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults.

Emily has 6 years of experience working with individuals aged 2-25 years old across various settings, including home, school, and clinical settings. She has worked in early childhood education settings, community-based mental health, group therapy, private practice, mobile therapy, and multidisciplinary clinics, collaborating with teams of counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.

She is presently pursuing certification in AutPlay® Therapy, a neurodiversity-affirming framework for implementing play therapy to address the mental health needs of neurodivergent children and their families. She plans to seek accreditation in sand tray therapy, horticultural therapy, and Animal Assisted Play Therapy (AAPT). After years of direct clinical work, Emily wants to pursue her doctorate in Counselor Education to educate clinicians about neuro-affirming practice and advocate for the leveraging of neurodivergent voices and inclusion in mental health settings.

In addition to her clinical work, Emily was recently awarded the 2025 Camberg Award by the PA Association for Play Therapy at their annual conference for her work as a graduate student. She also serves as an undergraduate internship coordinator at another private practice, mentoring undergraduate students who are interested in the fields of psychology or social work.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her fur baby, Simba, volunteering at a farm for rescued animals, and tending to her plants. She is a big foodie and loves eating all different cuisines. She also enjoys traveling, watching anime, gaming, and attending concerts featuring a wide range of music genres.
